From primitive ages there has been war among people for enormous reasons such as for economical gain, territorial gain, nationalism, revenge.

War leads to extreme violence, aggression, destruction, and mortality, using regular or irregular military forces. Death, injury, malnutrition, sexual violence and disability are some of the physical causes of war while post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, and anxiety are some of the emotional causes of war.

It also includes long-term physical and psychological harm to children and adults, as well as reduction in the material and human Capital.

RUSSIA-UKRAINE WAR

Russia began an invasion on Ukraine on 24 February 2022 in an escalation of the Russo – Ukrainian War that began in 2014. It is the largest military attack in Europe since WWII.

In a T.V. show Vladimir Putin declared Russian could not fell safe, develop and exist because of what he claimed was a constant threat from modern Ukraine. Immediately the Russian soldiers annexed Crimea and its ally Belarus, and millions of Ukrainians have fled their homes.

Through Putin claims that his goal was to protect his people and genocide and aim for the demilitarization and de- Nazification of Ukraine: it is a vibrant democracy, led by a president who is Jewish.

“How could I be a Nazi?” said Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the President of Ukraine, who was likened Russian’s onslaught to Nazi Germany’s invasion in WWII. Ukraine’s chief rabbi and the Auschwitz Memorial have also rejected Russian’s slur.

In late 2021 Russian began deploying big numbers of troops close to Ukraine’s borders.

Putin repeatedly denied planning an invasion but then scrapped a 2015 peace deal for the east and recognized areas under rebel control as independent.

To stop the war, the Russian leader wants Ukraine to recognize Crimea as a part of Russia and to recognize the independence of the separatist run east. And he demands that Ukraine changes its constitution to guarantee it will not join NATO and the EU.

The Russo- Ukrainian war may result in the Third World War, as many super power countries are supporting Ukraine and criticizing Russia. Seeing the race for nuclear ammunition once Albert Einstein said “I don’t know what World War III would be fought with but I do know that World War IV would be fought with sticks and stones.” And now everyone is hopping it is not to be true as a nuclear war would destroy all forms of life on earth.

Everyone is hoping that an end could be brought to the war by discussing the matters and solving the grievances so that no such situations would be faced. Indian in such situation is following non alignment policy.

It is neither supporting Russia nor Ukraine rather only concerned about evacuation of Indian people who are in Ukraine. India should raise its opinion about the war, the need to stop it and should help in settling out the problems.

From the details mentioned above we have come to know all the destruction caused by wars, their consequences and their effects on the ordinary people. So we should prevent war and encourage the spreading of peace and harmony. Maintaining peace and harmony all over the world is essential for humanity.

Peace enriches our communities and individual lives, as it directs us to embrace diversity and support one another to fullest extent possible. Peace is the path we take for bringing growth and prosperity to society. Peace can only be achieved by liberating ourselves from artificial boundaries that separate us.

So every nation should promote peace and harmony for the growth of investments, generating employment and attracting more tourists.

“There was never a good war or a bad peace”
